The following is a press release from the Phoenix City Rollers, formerly known as the Arizona Bruisers:
As life evolves, so does derby.
After splitting from their former league in January, the Arizona Bruisers went independent and began to lay a solid foundation to keep pace and compete with roller derby organizations across the nation. After much deliberation among the team members, discussion with our production team and skaters in roller derby clubs across the country, it was decided that a complete break from their former league would best serve the clear direction that this team is heading.
Goodbye Arizona Bruisers…hello Phoenix City Rollers.
The name may have changed, but the game remains the same. Fans can rest assured that the Phoenix City Rollers will maintain the high standards of sportsmanship that you have come to expect, but the hits will be harder, the skating will be faster and the competition will be fierce.
No gimmick, no themes…just pure play from passionate dedicated skaters. The Phoenix City Rollers are on the forefront of the new age of roller derby and we invite all derby fans to join the revolution.
