Get ready for a "legends" weekend at Arizona Derby Dames as they celebrate the launch of their 20th season of derby love and their 15th as a banked track league.
First, at Michi-chan Sports, we will be launching our new video series, Michi-chan's RAW Derby, which features full jam-by-jam coverage of 13 classic bouts from the time we covered flat track roller derby in Arizona from 2007 through 2010 and from various leagues including Arizona Derby Dames, Arizona Roller Derby, Renegade Rollergirls, Tucson Roller Derby, Tucson Derby Brats and from the short-lived Phoenix City Rollers (Arizona Bruisers).
The debut of RAW Derby will feature an Arizona Derby Dames July, 2008 bout between The Brutal Beauties and The Bombshells. When this Season 4 bout was recorded, the Brutal Beauties remained undefeated in the league's history. See legends like Celeste, Phyllis Killer and Sally Wacker for the Beauties go up against newer Bombshell jammers Joja Peach, Alkaline Trina and Hippie's Revenge as well as legends like Jugger Naughty and Gabrihella Gauntlet. This bout also features the AZDD debut of former Phoenix City Rollers skaters Nurse Ratchet on the Brutal Beauties and Nacho Girlfriend on the Bombshells.
This bout will feature the crazy antics of the flat track-era AZDD that made them a fan favorite including several "extended take downs", a Red Rocker "hump" and a wild final jam that you just have to see.
This featured bout has never been seen before, either in "Jam by Jam" or in a highlight reel on any Michi-chan channel. Therefore, we are considering this as recovered lost media. The world will get to see this crazy bout for the first time. This bout will feature full jam by jam commentary by Michi-chan at her peak performance.
This bout will premiere on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 7:30PM Arizona Time on YouTube. Then on Saturday, September 20, the legends will be coming out again, this time in person. Join AZDD for "Legends Live 4Ever", which will include a bout that brings back the legends of seasons past. AZDD legend Celeste will be at the announcer's table. This is sure to be a fun time. Also on the doubleheader, AZDD presents "Gender Bender", an open gender bout that is being billed as "A tasty peek into the upcoming 2026 Roller Rage".
