This Saturday, AZRD's #4 Brawlarinas will bout against the #3 Surly Gurlies in a bout where someone will skate away with their first "W". In their last bout, the Brawlas had a low scoring 20 point margin loss against the Brusiers and the Surlys had a high margin loss against the Bad News Beaters.

I have seen both teams scrimmage over the past few weeks and without giving any secrets away, I can say that both teams pretty much will be meeting the same challenges when they go against each other. It's really a battle to see who can do it better.

The Arizona Derby Dames has announced additional details of their "season opener" bout. The bout on Saturday, January 26 will feature all 5 teams including the expansion team, The Runaway Brides.

AZDD has also announced a special $5 admission price for this bout.

On the AZDD fan board, the AZDR's Michi-chan commented "Thanks to AZDD Management for making this bout just a 5-spot. This is a good chance for potential new fans to discover traditional flat track derby.".

Arizona Roller Derby (AZRD) will be participating in the Tempe Block Party parade on New Years Eve. This is an event that will take place prior to the Tempe New Year's Eve Block Party.

This parade is also not to be confused with the Fiesta Bowl Parade which will run along Central Avenue in Phoenix. (that confused us since we could not find any information on the Mill Avenue parade)

In an announcement on amp.az, Arizona Roller Derby (AZRD) has announced that former league founder Ivanna S. Pankin as well as Trish The Dish have returned to the league. No team assignments are known at this time.

Recently, Ivanna and Dish moved from Las Vegas to Tucson and moved their business, Sin City Skates to a new location in Tucson. We will have a story about the new Sin City Skates on the December edition of the Arizona Derby Report (AZDR).

The Renegade Rollergirls will be holding another free demo bout at Coronado Park in Phoenix. This is the same place where the November demo bout took place. The November bout was shown on the November edition of the Arizona Derby Report.

Unfortunately, AZDR will not be able to cover this bout as we will be at the BruiserNation scrimmage between the Bruisers and the Tucson Roller Derby Copper Queens at Casey at the Bat.

The Arizona Derby Dames (AZDD) has announced their 2008 bouting season.

All bouts will be held at Castle Sports Club (11420 N 19th Avenue, Phoenix) at 8PM (doors at 7PM). Tickets will continue to be $8 presale and $10 at the door. The league has announced they will be using Brown Paper Tickets for their ticketing services this season. Bookmans and Hazelwoods First Place remain as headline sponsors.
